Reproductive Rights
What is JAC's Position?
JAC strongly supports the progress made in the Affordable Care Act which states that simply being a woman was no longer a pre-existing condition, requires basic reproductive health tests be covered at no cost, and eliminates the copay for millions of women who utilize prescription contraception.
Reproductive rights are more than the right to an abortion—they directly impact quality of life and include fairness and equal access to reproductive health care for all women, not just a privileged few. When reproductive rights are compromised, the separation between religion and state is also compromised. Legislation that is defined by a particular set of religious beliefs, such as abortion restrictions, violates equal protection for all under the Constitution.
