Highland Park, IL January 16, 2013

“This is our first task as a society: Keeping our children safe.”
                                                             – President Barack Obama

JAC (Joint Action Committee) applauds the administration for its far-reaching proposals to curb future gun violence. In order to ensure the safety of all citizens, we insist that our elected Representatives and Senators come together to enact legislation against gun violence. We must prevent more Columbines, Virginia Techs, Auroras, Tucsons and Sandy Hooks while respecting the constitutional rights guaranteed by the 2nd amendment. JAC members pledge their support and assistance to our administration to pass the proposals introduced today. Together we can stand up against gun violence. Together we can demand that our legislators pass common sense laws that will protect us against senseless violence. Together we can honor the memory of those lost or hurt by gun violence. It is time. Today is the day.
