JAC Statement on the 2015 State of the Union

January 21, 2015

Tomorrow Congress will try to pass a nationwide 20-week abortion ban, superseding women's private and personal health care decisions.  Last night the President reiterated his strong support to ensure that women are able to decide what is best for themselves and their families.

In his pro-choice remarks, the President said: "We still may not agree on a woman's right to choose, but surely we can agree it's a good thing that teen pregnancies and abortions are nearing all-time lows, and that every woman should have access to the health care she needs."

JAC has worked for more than 30 years to support Members of Congress who share our deep belief that women need to have safe and legal access to health care options without government interference.

While those in Congress seek to attack women's reproductive rights, we are confident that the President and his Administration will continue to work toward ensuring that all women in our country continue to have this basic right.  He has said that he will veto the 20-week abortion ban, if it should pass Congress.

It is important for your Representative to know that you do not agree with this assault on women's reproductive rights. Call today at 202-224-3121.  Protect your choice.
