Today we are all disappointed and saddened by the outcome of yesterday's election. This was a long and hard-fought campaign about the issues we care about and the direction of our country. Despite the results, our democracy worked as it should. Now we must come together and continue our efforts to improve our country.
Today, before the start of Rosh Hashanah Sunday, Hillary Clinton released the following statement:
“As the High Holiday celebrations begin, I send my best wishes for a Shana Tova – a happy and healthy new year – to Jewish families and communities in the United States, Israel, and around the world.
With the passing of Shimon Peres, Israel has lost a leader who championed its security, prosperity, and limitless possibilities from its birth to his last day on earth. The Middle East has lost a fervent advocate for peace and reconciliation and for a future where all the children of Abraham build a better tomorrow together. And Hillary and I have lost a true and treasured friend.
